At WorkIQ, we’re all about doing things smarter – and that includes how we heat our building. Thanks to the District Heating Scheme in Tallaght, South Dublin, we’re tapping into an eco-friendly way to stay warm while cutting down on our carbon footprint.
So, what’s it all about? The district heating system takes excess heat from local Amazon Web Services (AWS) data centre and uses it to keep nearby buildings, like ours, toasty. It’s a win-win: less wasted energy and a greener, more sustainable way to stay warm.
The buildings benefiting from this heating project encompass County Hall, Tallaght County Library, and various residential apartments. The Technological University’s (TU) facilities being heated include the Main Building, the Sports-Science, Health and Recreation Building, and the Catering College (CAET).
By getting on board with this innovative system, we’re not just saving energy – we’re also saving on costs and reducing our reliance on fossil fuels. Plus, it’s pretty cool to be part of South Dublin’s push toward more sustainable heating solutions.
Key Takeaways:
- We’re reducing our carbon footprint by using heat from the Amazon Web Service data centre.
- It’s an eco-friendly and cost-effective way to keep warm.
- We’re proud to support a local, sustainable heating solution in South Dublin.
At WorkIQ, sustainability isn’t just a buzzword – it’s how we & OI Space do business through our Environmental Policy. We’re excited to keep exploring new ways to lower our environmental impact and help the companies based here follow the same path.
